Our recent SLAC assessment conducted on October 28, 2024, reveals the escalating humanitarian challenges in frontline areas. With intensified conflict activity and proximity to the line of contact (5-7 km in some areas), settlements are facing population declines, access constraints, and disruptions in essential services.
⚠️ Shifts: Some settlements, like Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, have seen populations drop by nearly two-thirds since August. Those who remain are primarily vulnerable groups—elderly, persons with disabilities, and children—with no observed movement in or out.
⚠️ Access Barriers: Security constraints and damaged infrastructure now limit access. In Pokrovsk, only three of six entry points are passable, while Myrnohrad has one route accessible for humanitarian aid.
⚠️ Basic Services Under Strain: Water and electricity are unreliable, with frequent interruptions and heavy reliance on boreholes, NGO deliveries, and limited generators. Healthcare access is minimal outside Pokrovsk.
⚠️ Market and Financial Challenges: Markets are open but struggling to restock, and financial services are minimal with banks and ATMs closed. Cashless payments and mobile postal services are available only sporadically.
🌍 AQLITY Milestone: Proud to share that we’ve now reached 150 frontline locations—and we’re committed to delivering key insights from these areas to support those in need.
We’ll continue to assess, analyze, and provide the critical information necessary to guide humanitarian response in these challenging environments.
